Apps to Improve Eyesight?

Just as we reach the optimal age of 40 something we find that lo-and-behold we can’t seem to stretch our arms far enough away from our eyes to see the very tiny print that seems to be persistent on all bottles, newspapers, books etc that we surround ourselves with.

Right about this age the elasticity in our eyes seems to give way and the harsh reality sets in for most. Even if they have never worn eyeglasses before now they need to! It is really hard for most to cross this bridge of life, as most are not yet prepared to consider that the body has become older and the poor functions that seem to creep up need to be dealt with at some point.

Reading glasses (readers) become an inevitable sign of getting older.

Well an IPhone app made by company Glassesoff may have an answer for you…maybe?

Of the two elements needed for human vision (the quality captured by the eye and the brain’s ability to process this information) this procedure will focus on the brain and the processing of the information.

“People can impact their vision by increasing the quality of images captured by their eye (e.g., wearing eyeglasses, going through corrective eye surgery), or by enhancing their brain’s image processing abilities.”

This app will be able to boost the brain’s natural image processing ability, so that the brain can learn how to process the blurry images. Improving the eye age by 8 years or so.

The app is played like a video game and seems to have flashing dots and stripes, and will adapt to the players specific vision performance and progress. According to some early reports and studies seems to really work.

Well there you go!

Eyewear Of The Future: 3D-printed eyeglasses

It’s called Printoptical Technology .

A Dutch company is working on 3D printed fully functional eyeglasses using this “Printoptical Technology”. This company has been developing and manufacturing optical solutions for the LED industry using this same type of 3D printing.

To be completed within one printing job, LUXeXcel printed as a demonstration a fully functional and compete pair of lenses and frame.

This technology prints clear ink on translucent media to make optical elements such as LED lenses. Using ink-jet technology the printer deposits drops (that manage to remain smooth) that are dried using uv light. The key element says LUXeXcel is the ultra-high resolution 1,440 dpi (pixels-per-inch) or greater.

This technology can produce very complex, optically smooth surfaces with no post-processing…this is the only 3D-printing method that can do that.

Well image that!
