When your glasses are sitting too low on your nose please follow these easy steps to improve the fit.

ADJUSTING WIREFRAMES

Use your thumbs to push the nose pads closer together, carefully using small movements on either side equally. That is, push a tad on one side and a tad on the other – try them on – if they are still too low try a small amount on each side again until they fit snugly against either side of your nose. Be sure not to have them too tight so that they might cut into your nose – they should be snugly fitting along the side of your nose

ADJUSTING PLASTIC OR ACETATE FRAMES

Apply a little heat to adjust your plastic or metal frames

One of two ways:

A) Run a hairdryer for 30 seconds over the part of the frame you want to bend the heat will soften the plastic.

or

B) Run hot to warm (not scathing hot) water on the bridge (carefully so as not to spill it on the lenses) or on the temples.

Push temple-ends down with the thumbs after heating the plastic

Bend inward at the bridge, the hinges, or the bend of the temple arm, to make the frame fit more snugly.

a. Pushing temples down after heating will tighten the temples by shortening the length so that the glasses don’t fall off.

b. Bending the bridge inward will reduce the opening of the frames and move them tighter towards your face

push the nose pads - the bridge inwards

c. Pushing the hinges carefully inwards will make the frames snugger at the temples, the temples will closer to the temples of your head – this will also contribute to making the frames fit better.

push the temples of your glasses inwards
